Nakano Momijiyama(中野もみじ山) in Aomori
When it comes to autumn leaves attractions in Japan, there is Arashiyama嵐山 in Kyoto京都. And Nakano Momijiyama中野もみじ山 here is called as the “Little Arashiyama” of Tohoku(North-East) area in Japan.
It was the place I liked the most throughout this whole 5-days autumn leaves journey(Click here). It was not hard to get to and not much time is needed to spend here. I strongly recommend visiting here if you meet the time when the color of the leaves reaches a peak.

Restaurant near Nakano Momijiyama中野もみじ山
Followed by the journey of Hirosaki Castle Park in the morning, it came to lunchtime when I arrived the nearby area of Nakano Momijiyama中野もみじ山. It seems that there were very few restaurants there. Therefore, I got off at 津軽伝承工芸館（津軽こけし館）, a bus stop prior to that I should be. There were small art museum and souvenir shops. But I just aim for having a lunch in the food court there.
After that, it takes about 15mins on foot to get to the entrance of Nakano Momijiyama. And then I found that there were some temporary stalls making Fried noodles, hotpot,……etc. Seats were provided as well.
Travel route of Nakano Momijiyama中野もみじ山
Nakano Momijiyama中野もみじ山 literally means Nakano Momiji “mountain”. But actually, you do not have to hike to get there. When you arrive, just simply follow the footpath on the map and enjoy the stunning view on the way.
But, I did not go to the forest area shown on the top right-hand side of the map. Coz the path there was too wet after raining and it seems that there were not much rich colored autumn leaves in that area. You may take a walk there if you have plenty of time or the situation allows you to.
16:00, it was the time when people started to leave. Actually, there was still a period available to shoot photos before the sunset really came. So you may grab this chance to takes loads of pictures or get back to the red bridge for that.
When it was sunset time, I went back to the viewpoint at the entrance. Same location but at a different time, it got even more beautiful.
Although there was also autumn-leaves-light-up in Nakano Momijiyama中野もみじ山, I have to choose between it and the Hirosaki Castle Park. It feels like that in Hirosaki Park will be prettier. Besides, I might miss the last minibus back to Kuroishi station if I stayed there. So finally I choose to visit the Hirosaki Park again for the light-up.
